We are pleased that you are interested in employment with the Office of Roger D. Eaton, Charlotte County, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. This Office seeks to attract, retain and inspire high-quality individuals’ who want to work for an organization who strives for excellence in customer satisfaction in meeting our organizational goals and objectives.

It is important to us that you understand how your employment application will be handled. The following steps comprise our application and selection process.

To insure that we have consistent information from all candidates, we require that each applicant complete a Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Application for Employment. Resume only submissions will not be accepted as having officially applied for any opening. Employment applications will only be reviewed for open positions with the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Office. To apply for a position with the Board of County Commissioners or other constitutional officers, you will need to make direct inquiry with their offices.

NOTE: If claiming Veteran’s Preference, a copy of the required DD214 documentation must be submitted with the application. See our Employee Relations Forms link on our Additional Information menu.

In addition, as required by Florida Statute, all information received by application is considered a Public Record, and as such, must be made available to interested parties upon specific request, and will be retained in our files as per State and Federal retention guidelines.

REVIEW OF QUALIFICATIONS

We will carefully review your qualifications as well as those of all other applicants applying for similar positions. If you are to receive further consideration, we will contact you. If you are not contacted, your application will be held in our active files for sixty (60) days. Changes in name or address and work history will require a new application.

NOTE: It is our policy to verify the education and experience listed on the application by any candidate being offered a position based on the qualifications required. In addition, skills or aptitude testing may be required as a part of the qualification and selection process.

INTERVIEW

Due to the number of applications received, we are only able to consider for personal interviews those applicants whose qualifications most closely match the requirements of the position.

If you are selected for an interview, the Employee Relations Department will contact you. During the interview, we will discuss your qualifications and provide you with information about the position. In most instances, successful completion of testing will precede a personal interview.

SELECTION DECISION

At each step in the process, a candidate's qualifications are carefully reviewed for further consideration. Should you be considered for a position with the Clerk and Comptroller, you will be required to (1) receive and review a number of background check disclosures; (2) provide your authorization; and (3) provide your name, social security number, date of birth and address. Therefore, we caution you not to assume a hiring commitment until you are notified by the Employee Relations Department of a firm offer and exact date and time to report to work.

The following is a partial list of benefits available to employees of the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Office.

  • Employee Health Center Insured employees are eligible for free health care and prescription services offered at the County’s Employee MyHealth Onsite Centers.
  • A traditional HMO Open Access Medical Plan is also available to all insured, and includes Dental, Prescription Card and Vision Care Services for Single and Dependent plans.
  • An Employer paid Life Insurance Policy with AD & D benefits is offered to all full-time employees. Supplemental plans are also available during the County's open enrollment period.
  • Short Term Disability Limited to employee coverage. This is an employee contributed program.
  • Long Term Disability Limited to employee coverage. This is an employee contributed program.
  • Paid Time Off All employees accrue paid time off and can start using their accrued time after 30-days, with notice. Over your tenure, the amount accrued increases based on longevity and actual hours worked.
  • Holidays Employees observe 11 paid holidays each year.
  • Birthday Leave Employees can observe their date of birth as a paid leave benefit.
