Charlotte County Clerk of the Circuit Court & County Comptroller, Roger D. Eaton, has been awarded The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for his office’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the year ended September 30, 2018.
This is the 3rd consecutive year that Roger D. Eaton in his capacity as Clerk of the Circuit Court & County Comptroller has received this award. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government agency and its management.
The Charlotte County Clerk of Court & County Comptroller’s CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
“It is an honor to have my Comptroller Division acknowledged for their hard work,” said Clerk Eaton. “They diligently prepare financial presentations which consistently meet high standards for transparency, full-disclosure, and accuracy.”
